Judy is the managing principal for the practice and a recent recipient of the "Top 50 Independent Broker/Dealer Women Advisors" by Registered Rep.1 In addition, she was profiled in the August 2013 issue of Forbes as one of Georgia's Financial Leaders. As of June 2014, Judy manages more than $170 million in assets.
Judy's career path has been nontraditional in the fact that she did not rise through the ranks of a brokerage firm. She earned an accounting degree from Clemson University and spent 12 years in banking. She started in lending, where she began earning her advisory licenses. Within a few years, she was promoted to an executive level where she was responsible for creating a banking segment to match the needs of businesses. Judy realized that she missed the personal interaction with customers, so she continued to obtain additional licenses to make the move to the investment management side of the financial arena. She opened a brokerage office in 2001, during one of the most tumultuous times in U.S. history. Her mantra was and continues to be, “The risk has changed, has your strategy?”
Judy has earned her Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation (AAMS). She also holds series 6, 7,9,10, 63, registrations as well as life, health, and accidental death insurance licenses. She is licensed in 19 states across the nation.
Judy is a five-time recipient (2009 - 2014) of the Five Star Wealth Manager Award for Atlanta, which recognizes the top wealth managers in client satisfaction.2 .
